ELBE 2009
Bicycle: Borrowed from Georg and Regina
Where: From Cuxhaven to Prague
When, how long and how far: July 2009, for approx. 3 weeks and 700km
Comments: Using Georg and Regina’s bikes, caught the train to Cuxhaven, and then cycled along the Elbe all the way to Prague (where for the last bit it is actually the Vitava). Much of the route follows the old east / west border. The prevailing wind was from behind, and following the river meant flat terrain. Stayed mostly in private “Zimmers” with no pre-booking.
