GERMANY: ODER / NEISSE BICYCLE TRIP 2019

Where: From Uekermunde to Zittau
Distance: Approximately 600km
When: July / August (two weeks)
Comments: We used the DB to get ourselves and the bicycles from Remshart (with an overnight stop in Dresden) to the start at Ueckermunde on the Stettiner Haff at the border between Germany and Poland on the Baltic coast.
The cycleway followed the Oder and Neisse rivers, which form the border between Germany And Poland to the Czech Republic border. The weather was much better than last year’s ride (ie not as hot), and the wind was mostly following. Much os the cycleway was along the flood levy on the German side of the river, but there were many opportunities to cross over to the Polish side. There were quite a few cyclists, but almost all travelling in the opposite direction, and almost all Germans.
